About Heidi U. M. Ferguson
"I grew up working in my parents' old-fashioned drugstore. It was there, watching my dad lean across the counter and counsel customers, that I learned a lot about the art of connecting and helping people," says Heidi Ferguson, MD. "My early years were shaped by my parents' strong work ethic and commitment. I feel that's what laid the groundwork for my desire to be a physician."
In her practice, Dr. Ferguson emphasizes the cornerstones of good health - activity, nutrition, sleep and personal connections. "Many conditions can be managed with interventions involving lifestyle and behavior, not medication," she says. "As a physician, it's my duty to provide information and education, assist with navigating the health system and most importantly, listening to my patients' concerns."
After earning her medical degree from the John A Burns School of Medicine in Honolulu, Dr. Ferguson completed her internship and residency at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. Dr. Ferguson is board certified in family medicine.
She was born and raised in Honolulu until she moved to Oregon in 2014.

Dr. Heidi Ferguson is leaving the clinic to take care of terminally family members. She is an outstanding physician. It is a shame Dr. Ferguson has never had the staff at the clinic to match the quality of care, diagnostic skill and intense interest in her patients. The clinic will benefit from a stable experienced well qualified staff, not handing new medical assistants with a certificate problems which they are well aware that they are not qualified to handle. Stability is probably the key word here because it would produce experience. Dr. Ferguson is a gem. Her home state and family will be lucky to have her return to help them.
