About Mary M. Wells

Dr. Melinda Wells, O.D. has been practicing optometry for nearly 30 years. She started her Lake Forest practice over 25 years ago.

Dr. Wells received her Bachelor's of Science in Biology at the University of California, Riverside in 1984. She then received a Bachelor's of Science in Visual Science, Cum Laude in 1986 and her Doctorate of Optometry in 1988 at the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton.

Dr. Wells worked with an ophthalmologist, Dr. Bradley Greider, M.D., of Vista for over 12 years. She routinely handled pre and post-operative care, and currently specializes in difficult-to-fit contact lens patients. Dr. Wells has national certification in the management and treatment of ocular disease, as well as glaucoma. For the last 20 years, Dr. Wells has worked closely in the management and care of LASIK patients with Tom Tooma, M.D. of Newport Beach. Dr. Tooma is a nationwide known specialist in LASIK and has performed over 80,000 LASIK procedures alone. Dr. Tooma is also currently involved in FDA clinical trials regarading the implantation of corneal inlays to correct presbyopia. Because of Dr. Wells' association with Dr. Tooma, her patients have access to a true specialist in all aspect of refractive surgery.

Dr. Wells has been a member of the American Optometric Association and the California Optometric Association for the past 29 years. Dr. Wells prides herself on friendly professional care and attention to detail.
